Frappuccino makes a delicious drink that you can easily make at home! With just four ingredients, and a couple of optional toppings, this frappuccino recipe will be a favorite!
Frappuccino is absolutely one of my favorite coffee drinks that I order when I go to fancy coffee shops.
Of course, I don’t get to those place very often, even though just this past year, two really popular coffee shops came to our town. One opened in the hospital lobby and the other with a more convenient drive thru.
To be honest though, I only visited the one at the hospital while I was there visiting my Grandmother, but wouldn’t make a special trip to search for a parking space to then go inside and buy a frappuccino, even though I love theirs more I can even begin to fathom.
But, guess what? I made this in about two minutes at home.
I drank in about the same amount of time, too.
Ingredients for this Recipe
To make this amazing frappuccino at home, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- Ice – I recommend using crushed ice. If you have ice cubes, just place them into a zip top bag and carefully break the ice cubes into smaller pieces with the back of a spoon.
- Espresso or Strong Coffee – this is the key to a delicious frappuccino! You can use a home espresso maker or just brew very, very strong coffee to use instead.
- Milk – use your favorite half-and-half, milk or milk alternative (soy, almond, oat milk, etc).
- Sweetener – use your sweetener of choice from granulated sugar to sugar alternatives such as stevia, honey, etc.
- Optional Toppings – Whipped cream and chocolate syrup bring that coffee-house style fancy coffee drink right home!
How to Make Frappuccino at Home
- Blend together ice, espresso (or strong coffee), milk, and sweetener until well blended.
- Pour into a tall glass and top with optional toppings of whipped cream and chocolate syrup, if using.
- Serve immediately and enjoy every sip!
Here’s my Frappuccino recipe that rivals any that you can find anywhere else. Promise.

This tastes so amazing!
Thanks, Kelly. I’m so glad you like this drink.
Unbelievable! I couldn’t believe how easy and delicious this turned out to be. At minimum it tastes exactly like Starbuck’s. I immediately brewed extra espresso to chill in the fridge for this week.
Thanks, Cyclone! I’m happy you enjoyed this drink.
best recipe I’ve found. the crushed ice is the true key to a homogeneous drink that doesn’t oddly separate and water out. love it
Thanks, Aja. I’m so glad you like this drink. Thanks!
Closest recipe I’ve stumbled on. It’s delicious and now in my permanent stash of recipes! Thank you! I will be using this for a long time! (I got an expresso maker for Christmas, so this is a great treat!)
I used to live in a city where there was a Starbucks on nearly every corner. But recently, my husband retired and we moved to the boonies in Arkansas! The nearest Starbucks is about 40 minutes away, so I only get there when I’m in town. We do have a coffee shop closer called, The Bean Barn. Their frapps rivals even Starbucks.. but it still takes about 24 minutes to get off the mountain to go there, so it’s not like I can go 5 minutes down the road to get one!! I was looking for a comparable recipe and stumbled upon yours. What a game changer!! I just made my first one and WOW is that good!! I added some chocolate syrup to make a mocha frapp.. For the sweetener, I used 1 tablespoon sugar (I’m out of Splenda) and added a pump of sugarfree vanilla syrup. It is so good. My husband tried it and said it tastes just like what I can get at a coffee shop! I will definitely make this over and over again!! Thanks for the recipe!!
Thanks so much, Cheryl. So glad you love this. I’m so happy this recipe saves you a long trip and you can make it at home.
Hi! Does the coffee need to be cold before I blend it or can it come straight off the coffee maker?
I would cool the coffee before making the Frappuccino, Ana, or the hot coffee would melt the ice.
SO SO SO GOOD! ANYONE WHO SEES THIS COMMENT NEEDS TO LISTEN TO ME! THIS IS SO GOOD AND YOU NEED TO TRY IT! YOU CAN MAKE IT CAFFEINE FREE AND YOU CAN MAKE IT REALLY QUICK AND EASY TO MAKE! IT TASTES SO GOOD!
yes mumm
I made this for me and my kids to try. I can’t have caffeine so I made it with decaf cold brewed coffee and 2% milk and it came out so good! I put caramel sauce around the inside and on top of the whip cream and it added that extra flavor. My kids said it tasted just like Starbucks and I would agree! This is now my go to. Thank you
Misty, this decaf version sounds delicious and I am so glad you found a way you can enjoy this drink. Thanks.
Amazing!
Thanks, Melissa. So glad you enjoy it!
This is my go to drink when I teach virtual workshops – I so look forward to blending it on my first break when I don’t have time for breakfast. A couple of tips that I got from a gal who is opening her own coffee shop – add protein powder and a pinch of salt! Now you have extra nutrition and the flavor pops! This blended beautifully in my Ninja bullet and is still wonderful with instant coffee but even better with espresso. I just a basic blender right now that isn’t doing the trick. I’ll follow your tip and try crushing the ice beforehand and hope that will help. Thank you!
Thanks for the tips, Gayle. I’m so glad you enjoy this drink!
