Fudge Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting | addapinch.com

I love to use this peanut butter frosting with a rich, chocolate cake recipe. There are two that I especially love it with, my fudge cake recipe as well as my best chocolate cake. Both of those chocolate cake recipes are rich enough to work perfectly for a pure chocolate and peanut butter combination.

But, this frosting works equally well swirled on top of cupcakes or even butter or sugar cookies or squished between two peanut butter cookies for the ultimate peanut butter indulgence!

There are a few tips that I share for making sure your peanut butter frosting is creamy and fluffy. You’ll want to make sure you incorporate all of the ingredients before moving along to the next steps in making the frosting and you’ll want to beat the frosting at a higher speed to incorporate air into the recipe and lighten it up considerably.

Here’s my Peanut Butter Frosting recipe. I hope you love it!

What a great and easy recipe. I used it to frost my favorite brownie recipe. It was a hit. So fluffy. Used my favorite peanut butter. (Jif)

  2. Got this recipe from my mom years ago! She always made it when we were growing up. It’s delicious. I have no idea where she got it, it was handwritten on a recipe card😊. Try it, you’ll love it.

    1. This is a recipe my mom and grandmother made so I’m not sure how it originated either, Debra. Thanks!

  3. Should the peanut butter be natural to ensure it’s not too sweet? Can’t wait to try it with your best chocolate cake recipe for my daughters first birthday!!

  4. I’d like to use this frosting for a two-layer, 9-inch chocolate cake. Should I double the recipe?
