This Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe is a delicious fall favorite coffee drink! Learn how to make pumpkin spice lattes at home any of these three ways: hot, iced or skinny!
Every year when summer winds down and the promise of crisp fall days is here, you better believe I’m as excited as anyone thinking about Pumpkin Spice Lattes arriving at Starbuck’s. Then I remember, I can make my own anytime, just the way I like it! It’s the perfect fall favorite treat in the mornings or anytime of the day. I love that it’s so simple to grab my homemade pumpkin spice mix, head to the kitchen, and make it myself in any of the three ways in my recipe – hot (regular), iced or skinny!
Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe
I have to tell you, if you are like me and like to adjust flavors and spices in your foods and drinks, this is the way to go!
For my son’s version, I only add about half of the pumpkin spice that I include in my pumpkin spice latte. When I need an extra pick-me-up, I sprinkle just a tad bit more spice on top of the whipped cream than I normally do.
The smell of that pumpkin spice is so warm and comforting! It makes me ready to trade my flip flops and t-shirts for boots and sweaters, to cheer on our favorite teams at football games, and to spend an afternoon picking out pumpkins for the front porch. Isn’t it amazing how scents can do that? I’m the same way about peppermint and Christmas even though I love peppermint all year long. Do you do that? Please say you do!
I enjoy all of the three ways to make these pumpkin spice delights depending on the time of day and what my cravings are at the time. Each version is so delicious and so simple to make!
How to Make Pumpkin Spice Latte 3 Ways:
The ingredients slightly change in some of the different versions of the recipe according to which recipe you’re making. Here’s how you make this favorite coffee drink all of the three ways.
Hot (Regular) Pumpkin Spice Latte
Some days I enjoy them regular where each sip makes me warm to my toes, that’s when I crank out this hot version of the recipe.
To make it hot, add espresso or black coffee to the container of a blender. Add in half and half, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, vanilla and sugar, if desire sugar. Secure top to blender container and blend on high speed until the liquids become somewhat frothy. Pour into a serving cup and top with whipped cream and additional pumpkin spice for garnish.
Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe
Other days when it is still a bit warm here in the south, I enjoy them iced and refreshing, getting the warmth from the spices while not adding any more heat to my world! That’s when I use this version of the recipe.
To make this, add cold press coffee, half and half, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, vanilla extract, and sugar to the container of a blender. Secure top to blender container and blend on high speed until the liquids become somewhat frothy. Pour over a glass of ice and top with whipped cream and additional pumpkin spice for garnish.
Skinny Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe
And then, there are days that I realize I want to cut back a bit and enjoy everything in moderation. Those are the days that I turn to my skinny version of this recipe.
To make the skinny recipe, add espresso or black coffee to the container of a blender. Add in coconut milk, pumpkin puree, vanilla and stevia, if using. Secure top to blender container and blend on high speed until the liquids become somewhat frothy. Pour into a serving cup and top additional pumpkin spice for garnish.
See, there’s one for virtually every mood! Enjoy them!

This is one of my favorite autumn treats, but at $5 or more at my local cafe, it was an occasional treat till now. I made the iced version today, and it was delicious. Great taste, lower calorie, lower price! Tomorrow I’ll try the hot version!
I always loved it, too, and am so glad I can now make it myself any time I want one, too, Paula. I’m so glad you like this one.
Extremely easy to make and tastes super delicious!!
Thanks so much, Veronica! I just love how simple it is to make, don’t you?
Easy and tasty!
Thanks, Elizabeth!
Hands down the best pumpkin spice latte recipe! Made the iced latte, creamy and delicious!Â
Thanks so much, Sara!
I really like your website! I thought I’d leave a comment after trying this recipe. I found the original a bit strong with spice and it only filled half my mug. Adjustments I made were 1/2 C coffee, 6T milk, 1T sugar, 1/4tsp spice, 1tsp vanilla, 1T pumpkin.
Wow! Thank you, Robyn! So excited that it’s PSL season again, even if the weather doesn’t know it yet! 🙂
Making your own latte is better because you know what kind of ingredients you put into it. On the other hand, when buying a latte from Star Bucks, you don’t know what’s in your drink.
I can’t wait to try this on the weekend, so tired of over paying at that coffee shop.
Sounds YUMMY!!!!
I think I will enjoy this site. Looking forward to this
