It seems this week’s after party was one of the hottest tickets in town for celebrity couples, including Phoebe Bridgers and Bo Burnham, who were photographed arriving hand-in-hand. Given it is well-known that photographers lie in wait at this shindig, it seems we can take this as the couple’s first public confirmation of their relationship. In fact, the move comes shortly after Taylor Swift made the same move with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
Phoebe and Bo weren’t the only celebrity couple in attendance that night. Kylie Jenner attended in support of her new beau, the week’s SNL host, Timothee Chalamet. Other celebs at the afterparty included Daisy Jones and the Six star Camila Morrone, Sophie Turner, and Dakota Johnson.
May 2023: Keith Urban Outs Phoebe and Bo At Taylor Swift Concert
Whether or not Phoebe and Bo were a confirmed item had remained largely a mystery—until Keith Urban outed them at a Taylor Swift concert.
An unwitting Urban posted a video of him and Nicole Kidman rocking out at Taylor Swift’s Era’s Tour, meanwhile catching Bridgers and Burnham making out in the background. Seemingly oblivious to the chaos he was about to unleash, Urban captioned the video: “Shout out to Taylor, her team, and ALL her Swifties who showered us with sooooo many friendship bracelets.” As he and Nic dance along front stage, just behind them you can spy the iconically tall Bo Burnham and the iconically blonde Phoebe Bridgers. Urban, who posted a video to TikTok that captured the rumoured couple grabbing a quick kiss in the background, has apologised for revealing the couple. “Phoebe, I’m so sorry,” the singer told ET. “It felt very awkward. I felt bad. I was just digging on the concert! You never know what’s gonna happen.”

Phoebe and Bo were spotted together at LAX, with Bo even pictured placing his hands on Phoebe’s back at one point in time. A few days before Christmas, Bo and Phoebe were spotted attending the comedy show ‘KATE’ together in New York, with one Jezabel writer claiming their interactions “felt flirtatious”. This also comes after a string of anonymous reports that Phoebe and Bo were “making out, canoodling and cuddling”.

Given that Matty has never been one to shy away from pot-stirring behaviour, this photo could just be another instance of the musician meddling in the discourse. December 9, 2022: Pheobe Bridgers Releases Reported Diss Track About Paul Mescal
On December 9, 2022, Phoebe Bridgers hopped on SZA’s chart-topping and critically acclaimed album, SOS, to drop a spicy verse hinting at a big old tiff between her and Paul. Featuring on the mellow track ‘Ghost In The Machine’, Phoebe sings about a fight had with an ex. The lyrics were: ‘You said all my friends are on my payroll / You’re not wrong, you’re an asshole / Screaming at you in the Ludlow / I was yours for free’. According to an anonymous source, Phoebe had been seen “cuddling up” at Los Angeles hotel Magic Castle, with American comedian Bo Burnham. Of course, the musing of an anonymous gossip site should always be taken with a grain of salt, especially given the fact that neither Phoebe or Paul had commented on the rumours.
August 2021: Phoebe Bridgers and Bo Burnham Perform Together
Another month on, in August 2021, Phoebe and Bo performed together at a Pete Holmes’ comedy show. The two performed ‘The Funny Feeling’ on stage to an ecstatic crowd at the Largo in Los Angeles. At the time, Variety reported on the “rare” appearance from Burnham, which marked the first live performance of his song from Inside. “I’m gonna play a song I wish I wrote,” Bridgers told the audience before she brought Burnham to the stage. “I know I love something when it fills me with rage.” The performance was not recorded due to the Largo’s strict ‘no phones’ policy.
